I took a little break from Juniper and hopped on a I took a little break from Juniper and hopped on a friend’s boat. I love the freedom of having my own boat, but it requires a lot of mental, physical, & emotional strength to sail solo & I needed space from that. I wanted somebody else to make all of the decisions in my life that do not involve my preparations for the 2026 Golden Globe Race. I wanted somebody else to look at the wind. I wanted somebody else to worry about the anchor. I wanted somebody else to take set the main & take the helm & steer the ship. The boat I was on is named Libre. We hunted waves around the Solomon Islands & it was bliss not having to worry about sea nymphs rocking my rudder. Our journey was all rainforests and reefs, blue fire skies, white sand beaches that vanish at high tide, and waves that peel across the water like a gold bone. And when people would row over to the boat and ask questions my favorite thing to say was, “I don’t know I’m not the captain.”

1- Me reading “Treasure Island” onboard Libre. This book plus a real pirate legend inspired me to write a short story- check it on my blog it’s called “Ghost Pirate Treasure.”

2-me in the cockpit of Libre- look at those bad luck bananas dangling behind me

3-we spent most of our time hunting waves

4-I caught a little wave or two & rode glass for the first time.

5-post surf beer

6- We spent a week side-tied to these guys

7- in the Solomon’s the villagers shower boaters with flowers & seashells & fruits

8 & 9- I love a good snorkel

This is a little gecko that found me on an uninhab This is a little gecko that found me on an uninhabited island near Papatura. He wouldn’t let me go, stuck to my skin for an hour, maybe more. I named him Elvis. Back when I was an earth dweller, I had a lot of pets; dog, cat, snake, fire bellied newts, turtles, birds, and fish. People always ask me what I miss when I’m alone me at sea. Sometimes I crave things like bibimbop or a bath or a pet, but those cravings pass. The best thing is whenever the sea is scaring the bejesus out of me, a bird will land on my boat and sit with me until the feeling subsides. When I’m in nature, I am always surrounded by everything I’ve ever actually needed.

1-3 - Me & Elvis, whom I will adore always and forever, brief though our encounter was

6- If you get the old coconuts that already have a little green stalk growling out of them then chances are you’re gonna find this sweet fluffy edible meat inside.

Without nature I am nothing, or rather a lost so Without nature I am nothing, or rather a lost something. I believe that my creativity comes from God and that I am merely a conduit to bring it into existence. In order to stay connected to God, I find that is important for me to stay wild. And the only way to stay wild in this world, is to go deep into the wilderness where all the other wild things are. I love all forms of nature from deserts to jungles to mountains, but I am most hypnotized by the sea. In fact, I would sink without the sea. I love it so much that I live on a sailboat and call the deep my home. From my home I stare into the throat of squalls, sit in the blue belly of the unknown, align my heart with the howling moon, and bathe inside the crests of waves. My journeys are everything from madness to medicine and I wouldn’t want to live any other way.

1- Me, out there, south of the equator.
2- if you have a dream, let it consume every inch of you until it’s the truth of your life. Before I could afford a sailboat, I bought coffee mugs with sailboats on them so every morning I could envision myself on a boat.
3- Sometimes I cut up old sailing magazines and turn them into collages. It chills my head way out.
4-My boats a Panda 34 🐼
5- Dancing with my lazy jib sheet to the Melodians.
6- Water without wind.

Hey babe, here’s a music box from the Solomon Is Hey babe, here’s a music box from the Solomon Islands

1- The groovy cats from Vovohe Cove playing the panpipes. Your looking at music being made from plumping pipes tied together & struck with old flip flops. The drum is a metal salad bowl.

2-Two girls from Santa Ana singing a traditional song

3- These gals heard me singing in the grocery store & when I stopped singing they were clapping big. Turns out they are professional singers from an island near Gizo. One of them sang Blue Bayou for me in front of the grocery store before we parted ways.

4-the women of Roderick Bay singing a song about a magical crab!

5- Some kids from the windward side of Santa Ana singing a song about a kitty cat. Meow meow. The kids live near a spirit house where the bones of their chiefs & great warriors are stowed inside of canoe & crocodile & fish carvings. The people of the village feed the spirits offerings of taro pudding & pig.

6-The college students of Lata singing about how their province, Santa Cruz, is full of mosquitos. One morning i woke up to the guy with the guitar saying, “hello, I would like to clean your boat, there is lots of seaweed growing on it.” 2 weeks before that I was scrubbing my hull & wishing someone else would do it for me & now here this guy was begging to do it! I gave him a brush to start scrubbing with and gifted him a gold unicorn earring plus some fishing gear & flip flops in exchange for making my wish come true. He’s rocking that unicorn earring in this video, but it’s too small for you to see it, but trust me, it’s there.

7- The band “The Rattle Sounds” from Roderick Bay, rocking it

8- The song of you laughing when you this kid, Paulson, stick his tongue out. Paulson waddles like a sumo wrestler. He’s only 1 & a half, but the boy can eat. Within 5 minutes I watched him take a stick & try to knock a papaya off the tree, then he stole a banana from me, then he ate a pepper straight off the ground. After that he came right up to where I was sitting on the grass & started peeing.

In honor of the Hunter’s moon I wanted to tell y In honor of the Hunter’s moon I wanted to tell y’all a serious secret. I’ve been doing it for years with women all over this earth; on beaches or mountain tops or boats or forests. It’s called a new moon manifestation. Almost all the magic in my life has come from it, but I’ll tell you the funniest. I moved to LA & needed a car, on my moon paper I wrote somewhat jokingly, “I am driving a 1990s BMW” a month later a friend of mine who is a painter called & said, “Hey Olivia, do you want a car? A guy just traded me a BMW for a painting.” It was a 1990s version! I forgot to write on the paper that the car worked & it ended up being a money pit, but it was mine. Another time a friend wanted to visit Bali, but she had no money or job, within a month of doing the ceremony she got a job that sent her to Bali. Ok so here’s how to do the magic.
On the new moon;
1- Burn some sage & do a small mediation to get zen.
2- Take a pen & paper & write the date at the top.
3- Beneath that write “I accept these things into my life now or something better for my highest good & the highest good of all concerned.” (This is a karma free clause. You are telling God / universe what you want to bring into your life but allowing something even better that you might not have dreamed of to be delivered to you & also sometimes we desire things that aren’t in our best interest so the “highest good” line protects you from that.
4-  Now write everything you want to bring into your life as though it already exists. For example “I am living on my 40 ft. Island Packet & sailing around the Caribbean.” Or whatever you want, but be specific. Make sure that boat works & as you write imagine yourself doing these things & feel the joy of that.
5-Fold up your paper & put it in a safe place

Between now & full moon fill your head with gratitude.

On the full moon:
1- Take your paper out & burn it in a ceramic cup or bowl.
2 - Wait for the ashes to cool then place them in your hand.
3- Thank God or universe for being your co-creator & blow the ashes into the wind, preferably over some body of water.

Hope y’alls life gets magical!
