This is a list of all the gear I have onboard and recommend!
1. EPIRB- ARC GlobalFix
I have the ARC GlobalFix EPIRB, in case anything disastrous happens and Juniper and I need saving. When activated the EPIRB transmits a coded message on the 406 MHz distress frequency which is monitored by the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system. This signal alerts search and rescue services allowing them to quickly locate you in the event of an emergency.

The Garmin Inreach is how I track my voyage and text friends and family while I am at sea! Garmin no longer makes this model, but you can still get it from Amazon and after extensive research this is the best model for offshore due to it being a standalone unit and it’s battery life.
3. IRIDIUM GO
The Iridium Go is how I blog from sea, get weather on PredictWind, and make emergency phone calls!

4. HANDHELD VHF- STANDARD HORIZON HX890
I love this handheld radio. It floats, it has latitude and longitude, weather, it is submersible and floats, and it has emergency distress button.
5. PFD- PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE
I use a PFD that can both manually and automatically inflate, so if I am fully submerged in water there is a pill that dissolves and triggers the life jacket to inflate, so I can stay afloat! (The one I have is similar to the one linked above!)
6. RADAR REFLECTOR – DAVIS ECHOMASTER REFLECTOR
I do not transmit an AIS signal, so this radar reflector is how ships with radars can see me.

7. AUTOPILOT – RAYMARINE EV-400 With p70R CONTROLLER
It took me forever to decide which autopilot to get, I ended up with this Raymarine and love it. I got the controller for powerboats vs. sailboats, because when I am sailing I typically use my windvane.
8. CHARTPLOTTER – SIMRAD EVO 3
I love my chartplotter. I have it mounted right in my cockpit. The version I have is the EVO 2, so I am linking to a newer model.
