EXHAUSTED NEAR PORT ELIZABETH

I am so tired that I forgot I was heading west and found the sunset surprising. I thought maybe something was on fire on shore. I've slept three hours and jibed 100 times in 36 hours. I've only consumed water, grapes and a few ginger cookies on account of my jitters. I'm like the zombie...

  1. I probably sleep as little as you do while you are sea. I always feel relief when you reach your next port. Sorry you must dodge all the cargo ships, but definitely stay out of their way. Much love, xoxo

  2. Your posts are arriving just as I’m about to hit the hay — perfect timing — almost as if they tuck me in whilst reading about your adventures! A few weeks back, I interviewed Josh Kali (my 2nd interview with him since he started the MGR) while he was waiting in Cape Town to depart for the St. Helena leg of the race — he mentioned stopping in Port Elizabeth (tho not a MGR designated stopover) and how the people there were so welcoming and full of kindness — I wondered if you might stop there, too, but it sounds like you may have sailed by. Can’t wait for the next post — please keep them coming. 💕

  3. I’m telling nothing new. Sleep is so closely related to mental health. We are all nothing but a bag of hormones one reacting with another. I am not even understanding how it is possible to generate words on a page, and mentally put the necessary components in to send this blog. Utterly and truly amazing!! Thank you for inviting us in it is truly incredible. (your greatest fan)
